Change is possible for anyone
At AHP, adult individual therapy typically requires a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approach, always with a holistic and culturally informed lens.
Individual therapy sessions aim to address a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, chronic pain, and more. Using evidence-based techniques, Dr. Perry works with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate CBT, DBT, and integrative approaches to healing.
CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on identifying and changing thought patterns and behaviors that are contributing to emotional distress. DBT is similar to CBT in some ways but has a focus on helps clients develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build stronger relationships with a foundation in mindfulness and personal values.
At AHP, Dr. Perry takes a holistic approach to therapy, understanding that emotional well-being is deeply interconnected with physical, spiritual, and social health. Dr. Perry works with clients to identify factors that are contributing to emotional distress and she helps them develop strategies to address these areas in a holistic and sustainable way.
Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or simply looking to improve your overall emotional well-being, our CBT and DBT therapy modalities can help.
In the child, adolescent and caregiver therapy program, Dr. Perry uses both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modalities with a focus on the whole system.
Youth and their families often face complex challenges that require a comprehensive approach to treatment. In therapy, Dr. Perry aims to address the specific presenting issues but also considers the individual’s overall emotional, physical, spiritual, and social well-being to ensure long-term success.
Additionally, Dr. Perry believes that family dynamics and relationships play a crucial role in child development and mental health. The whole systems approach considers the entire family unit. Dr. Perry will work with both the adolescent and their family members to develop strategies that promote healthy communication, boundaries, and relationships. In some cases, an adolescent (13+) may attend therapy individually without participating in the caregiver component.

DBT is similar to CBT in some ways but has a focus on helps clients develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build stronger relationships with a foundation in mindfulness and personal values.
Parent Management Training (PMT) is an evidence-based approach to problem adolescent behavior. Caregivers interested in learning how to change family dynamics may participate in PMT which can be conducted in less than 10 sessions.
If your child or adolescent is struggling with social, academic, and/or emotional issues, let’s schedule an initial intake visit to see if this form of therapy would be a good fit.
In the AHP group skills training program, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modalities are used to reduce anxiety and depression, teach interpersonal skills and effective mindfulness techniques, and more.
Group sessions aim to provide a supportive and collaborative environment for individuals to learn and practice CBT and DBT skills with others who are going through similar challenges. Group members work collaboratively to identify negative thought patterns and behaviors that are contributing to emotional distress and learn new strategies for coping and emotional regulation.

Diagnostic assessment services involve the use of various tests and evaluations to determine an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. This may be appropriate if you are experiencing difficulties in your daily lives or if you are seeking clarification about mental health status.
The assessment process typically begins with a comprehensive interview, during which Dr. Perry gathers information about the history, symptoms, and concerns. This information is used to develop a personalized assessment plan, which may involve the use of standardized psychological tests, behavioral observations, and interviews with significant individuals in your life (with consent). Following the assessment, the psychologist provides a comprehensive summary of findings, diagnoses (if appropriate), and recommendations for treatment.
Diagnostic assessment services by a licensed psychologist provide a thorough and objective evaluation of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, which can be used to inform treatment planning and improve overall quality of life.
At this time, AHP is offering both in-person and virtual evidence-based therapy and assessment services. Virtual therapy sessions are approved by the provider based on factors such as client age, presenting issues, and access to care based on location.
AHP offers clinical supervision to pre-licensed psychologists at the doctoral level (PsyD, PhD). Dr. Perry has worked with externs and postdoctoral fellows to help them achieve their clinical and professional goals since 2020.
